Wealthy industrialists first discovered the great getaway powers of Gasparilla Island. Phosphate shipping and the railroad built the delightful little town of Boca Grande. Tarpon fishing and the lovely Gasparilla Inn gave it a reputation for charmed vacationing that visitors can still enjoy today.
