      <outline type="rss" text="Untold Stories: Southwest Florida History Lesson Plans" title="Untold Stories: Southwest Florida History Lesson Plans" description="&lt;p&gt;WGCU Public Media is pleased to provide lesson plans for the &lt;i&gt;Untold Stories&lt;/i&gt; television series.  Each lesson is easy to use and includes an anticipation guide, reading and  writing exercises, a vocabulary list and additional activities.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;WGCU-TV began producing the &lt;i&gt;Untold Stories&lt;/i&gt; series in 2003. Community by community, WGCU has  interviewed scores of Florida natives, local historians and community icons.  The station has visited dozens of communities and used hundreds of historical  photographs. The programs focus on the cities, towns, people and industries  that have shaped Southwest Florida.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;The template for the lesson plans was created by a group of  teachers and volunteers from Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hendry, Glades and DeSoto  Counties.  Sunshine State Standards  notations for Language Arts and Social Studies appear on each lesson plan.
